Upcoming VAC Programmes

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and in support of preventing the spread of Covid-19, we hosted our Mid-Year University VAC Programmes VIRTUALLY. At this stage we are planning to run our next programme in office.  Should lockdown regulations change, we will continue to run the programmes but switch to a virtual platform. Scroll to the end of this page to sign up to the mailing lists of our upcoming university programmes.

Our VAC programmes are aimed at School and University students who are pursuing a CA(SA) qualification. Below are the guidelines of the programmes offered for specific years of your studies.

Wisdom Wednesday Sessions (Grade 11 & 12 Students)

The global pandemic has forced us to adapt and deliver our VAC programme for Grade 11 and 12 students in a new and exciting way.

This year we will be running 3 Wisdom Wednesday sessions.

Field Work

Field Work is primarily aimed at giving Deloitte students who have completed the Advanced Programme training the opportunity to be part of a Deloitte audit engagement team. The students will assist their respective audit teams with the completion of fieldwork out at the client premises and as such, will have an opportunity to meet, work with and learn first-hand from current trainees, managers, and partners. This programme is exclusively available to students who already have a Training Contract with Deloitte.

For the January | February 2022 VAC Season, applications are open to our 2023 and 2024 Intake with a pre-requisite of having completed an Auditing module.

Do I qualify to apply for Field Work?

  • I have completed an Auditing module in 2021.
  • I can commit to a minimum of 4 weeks commencing 10 January 2022.
  • Attendance at Audit Methodology Training on 5,6 and 7 January 2022 is compulsory. 


Introduction programme | 20 – 21 January 2022

This programme runs over two days and really gives you a good idea of what being a trainee is all about, what makes Deloitte and its people special and offers an introduction to our audit software. This programme is appropriate for 1st year and 2nd year students studying on the CA Stream. 2nd Year Students who have already completed Auditing as a module should apply for the Advanced Programme.


Advanced programme | 17 – 19 January 2022

This programme runs over three days. The programme has been designed and formulated to give students a more practical picture of what a trainee does on a day-to-day basis, build up on the audit software teachings from our Introduction Programme and get them ready for Field Work. This programme is appropriate for 2nd, 3rd and final year students studying on the CA Stream. 2nd Year students attending this programme should have completed Auditing as a module in 2021.
